Vikings-Bears Thursday injury report: Jaylon Johnson, David Montgomery
The Vikings are quite healthy going into this week’s game against Bears. They have had all of the active roster present at their practices this week, including a fully-padded session Thursday.
This doesn’t include safety Lewis Cine who sustained a life-threatening leg injury in London. Cine had successful surgery and is believed to be on track to return at some point in 2023.
On Thursday, five players were limited to the Vikings’ game: CBs Andrew Booth Jr. and Cameron Dantzler (hip), OLB Za’Darius Smith(knee), OLB Za’Darius Smith (knee), and TE Ben Ellefson.
Booth seems to be ready to return to action, having missed the first three games due to the quad injury he sustained in the season opener. Except for an injury, he’ll likely only be playing on special teams Sunday.
Unless Dantzler’s injury to his hip keeps him out, that is. Although it seems unlikely, he was reduced from full participation on Wednesday and limited on Thursday. That’s something you should keep an eye out for when the final injury report is released on Friday.

Smith only played 24 snaps against the Saints as he dealt with a knee issue. That number should go up against the Bears, but the Vikings might still proceed with caution with their star pass rusher and not play him 50 snaps. The Bears have the most interesting injury news. Running back David Montgomery, who was injured in Week 4, was able to return to practice on Thursday as a limited participant. If he’s able to play, it would give the Bears’ dangerous rushing attack another weapon.
Jaylon Johnson, Chicago’s No.
Jaylon Johnson, Chicago’s No. On Thursday, he was diagnosed with another DNP. The Bears’ top three corners without Johnson are 2020 fifth-rounder Kindle Vildor, second-round rookie Kyler Gordon, and undrafted rookie Jaylon Jones. According to PFF, Gordon leads the league in yards allowed. However, all three have struggled this season.
