The Cleveland Guardians Need To Do This Against The New York Yankees In The American League Division Series

The Guardians are coming off a big series win against the Tampa Bay Rays during the Wild Card Series. Although many baseball fans outside Cleveland might have dismissed the Guardiac Kids, they were able advance to face New York in the ALDS.

But they will have to change how they approach the plate if they hope to beat the Yankees.

In the two games against Tampa, they could only score three runs. They were able to score a Jose Ramirez run and a walk-off from Oscar Gonzalez in game 2.

If the Guardians want to win against the Yankees, they will need to find a way of scoring more than three runs. This won’t suffice in any one game, let alone the entire series.

The best way to get runs rolling is to get your bats moving. The Guardians only had 13 hits over the two series. This isn’t terrible, but RBI needs to be created like the regular season.

There are certain areas where the Guardians can get more offensive production.

Steven Kwan has yet to record a hit in the postseason which is very unlike him. Kwan’s one strikeout is encouraging. He just needs to find a way to find a gap.

Andres Gimenez is another Guardian who struggled in his first two postseason games. He has only one hit and struck out five times in game 2.

Cleveland may be in good shape if Kwan or Gimenez return to their regular season in New York.
