Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut leads the democratic effort to create bipartisan gun control legislation. Many Republicans, including Senator John Cornyn from Texas, are open to negotiations. Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, and four of his coworkers have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the January 6 committee.
