Report: Inter Milan Make Opening Loan Bid For Chelsea Forward Romelu Lukaku
After a huge-money move by Inter Milan last summer it is safe to assume that Romelu Lukaku’s re-entry to Chelsea didn’t go according to plan. According to reports, the Belgian may soon leave London.
In a season filled with turmoil involving the Belgian, a modest return of 13 goals in 42 appearances left a lot to be desired. The striker has been vocal about his desire to return to Italy this summer and it seems Inter Milan has ramped up their interest in bringing the 29-year-old back to the club.
According to reports today by Fabrizio Romano, the Italian side has made their opening bid for the wantaway forward. Inter has yet to announce their price for the EUR5m loan fee Chelsea rejected. Owner Todd Boehly has made it clear that Lukaku only wants to return home to Milan. This may make it difficult for Chelsea to get a fair fee. They would likely lose a lot of the money they paid last month but the Belgian is not in Tuchel’s plans. This makes a transfer this summer possible. Romano suggests that Lukaku is pushing for the move. It will likely pick up steam over the next weeks.
