Ohio State Freshman OL Avery Henry Diagnosed With Cancer

Ohio State Freshman offensive lineman Avery Henry On Monday evening, he announced that he had been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. This rare form of bone cancer begins in the cells that make bones.

Henry posted on Twitter that “This isn’t the way I wanted it to be released”, but he said so anyway. “I will fight it!” I have never been a statistic, and I will never be one! “I want to thank my coaches and brothers for their support!”

Henry, a former three star prospect from St. Clairsville in Ohio, is 6-foot-6 and 309-pounds. He joined the Buckeyes in 2022 as part of their class. He enrolled in classes in June, but has not played in any games to this point in the course of his career.

According to the Mayo ClinicOsteosarcoma is most common in young adults and teenagers, but can also happen in older adults and younger children. The outlook (prognosis for this type of cancer has improved over the years thanks to innovations in treatment.

Henry’s diagnosis brings back memories of a former Muskegon, Mich. three-star defensive lineman Dametrius “Meechie” Walker, After a two-year battle against osteosarcoma, he died earlier this month at the age of 18..

Walker was raised rooting for Michigan, and word of Walker’s battle spread to the Wolverines football team. Who invited him to two games this fall?He was made an honorary member of this program.
