“Ever since I can remember, I’ve really struggled sleeping and I think a lot the traumatic things that were happening I didn’t realize that they were wrong,” Williams said. “But I knew I would look at other children and say, ‘Why don’t they seem to get this, like pain, dread, or fear? … Where is the joy? When will it come for me? ‘”
Williams recalled that the turning point came when a teacher asked her about her welfare and if she had been eating breakfast. She claims that the teacher was asking her “all the right questions”, such as what was wrong and if she was hungry. She asked Williams why she hadn’t had breakfast. Williams replied that “we just don’t have any breakfast.” Despite the truth about her father slowly coming out, Williams refused to accept it and believed her mother was trying to take her away from her dad. Williams claimed she was “indoctrinated by her father.”
” I get it, I was in an anti-my mother child cult. Williams stated that although I was fighting it in the beginning, my entire world was turned upside down. “And even though all the things I was feeling — “Oh, my god, I’m so happy I don’t need to see my father anymore” — it was still against everything I believed to be true. “
Williams has been attempting to come to terms with her past and learn how to deal with her trauma. She also realized that she wasn’t responsible for her mistreatment.
” “It’s not because I did these terrible things as a child,” she stated. “I felt there was an inherent problem with me or us because we did many things wrong all the times, which is why you would be mistreated.
Now, she is more interested in what would drive a father not to treat his children well. She notes that her feelings about him are reduced to the fact that he “makes a fascinating documentary. “
