J.J. Watt Clarifies Jared Allen Sack Celebration

Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt is a huge fan of Jared Allen, former Minnesota Vikings edge rusher.

Allen, who was being inducted into Minnesota’s Ring of Honor, sat in attendance to watch Minnesota’s 34=26 win over the Cardinals but it didn’t come easy – especially after Watt brought down Kirk Cousins late in the fourth quarter to give Arizona another chance to tie the game.

Watt was the only one to have two sacks that day. After paying tribute to his newborn child Koa, his second was also in honor of Allen. Minnesota fan didn’t like this, and Watt was very sensitive to that.

He then went on to explain a little more at his locker to reporters.

“I also want you to know that the fans misunderstood my Jared Allen tribute,” Watt stated (h/t Josh Weinfuss ).). “Jared Allen is one of my favourite players of all times, and this was absolutely a way of honoring him on his night here. Zero disrespect. I would never disrespect him.

” I have a lot respect for Jared Allen. “
