Hogs’ Jordan Walsh: ‘It’s Going to Be One Crazy Year’
FAYETTEVILLE (Ark. Arkansas’ Jordan Walsh is aware of the areas he needs to improve but gave fans a hint.
” “It’s going be one crazy year,” he said to the media during a Zoom call earlier in the week. “I’m excited about it. “
The Razorbacks will host the annual Red-White Scrimmage at Barnhill Arena Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The admission is free but there will be no streaming or live coverage.
” Having something to look forward too just lifts everyone’s spirits,” Walsh stated. “Everybody is a little on edge and nervous, just getting ready for the first game. “
He didn’t exactly have the best performances in Europe, but it gave coach Eric Musselman plenty of teaching points for the coaches with the 6-7 forward some have projected as an NBA first-round choice in 2023.
Musselman has mentioned players on past teams who struggled during foreign tours but shot much better during the season and Walsh averaged just 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds on 31.0% shooting from the floor and 12.5% from three in Europe. Coach made me do extra finishing drills in Europe because I was double-pumping and trying to avoid contact while I should have been attacking contact. It was something I had learn to do. “
He also heard stories about Musselman’s return to correct problems in the regular season.
“Knowing that it’s possible, and knowing it’s not impossible gives me confidence in my ability to go out there and do it better than anyone else,” Walsh stated.
