Hilary Duff remembers ex Aaron Carter: ‘Boy did my teenage self love you deeply’
Duff, who famously dated Carter between 2000 & 2003,, recalled Carter’s charm in an Instagram statement. This was after he was found dead at his Lancaster, Calif. home on Saturday. He was 34.
For Aaron — I’m sorry that life was so difficult for you and that it took you so long to get by the world,” Duff wrote. “You had a charm that was absolutely infectious… my teenage self loved you deeply. This is my condolences to you and your family. ”
Duff and Carter became a tween power couple when they began dating at the age of 13. The late musician also made an appearance on Duff’s Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire, as himself, in the season 1 episode, “Here Comes Aaron Carter.” The news about Lindsay Lohan’s love triangle was the most talked about after the couple split.
In 2012, Carter spoke to Fox News, saying that he would always love Duff. Duff was married to Mike Comrie at the same time and was pregnant with her first child. Carter stated, “I’m really happy that she’s in an effective relationship and that they’re going to have a child.” “Sometimes, I think to myself, maybe it could have been me, however, it is what it IS.” He said, “She knows that I will always love me.”
Duff has two children with Matthew Koma, a singer and record producer. Carter is survived by an 11-month-old son he shared with former fiancee Melanie Martin.
