Former Arkansas Razorbacks Safety Jalen Catalon Visiting Austin: 2022 Longhorns Transfer Portal Tracker

The regular season of the Texas Longhorns is over after an 8-4 record that saw many ups and downs.

It was therefore inevitable that many players would be able to access the NCAA Transfer Portal.

On Monday, the turnover began with several Longhorns entering their names in the portal.

DEC 21 UPDATE

The NCAA Transfer Portal revealed that the Texas Longhorns have hired a replacement punter in Isaac Pearson. Former Stanford punter Ryan Sandborn has also committed to the program.

Sandborn was a four year starter for the Cardinal. He had 192 punts for 7,980 tards and averaged 41.6 yards per punt.

He has also been able to kick field goals and has made 8 of 10 of them in his career. He is also 14-14 on extra-point attempts.

DEC 20 UPDATE

Junior Angilau, a former Texas offensive lineman, has moved to the Pac 12 and is now a member of the Oregon Ducks.

DEC 19 EVENING UPDATE

Jalen Catalon is visiting Austin as a former star safety for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He recently joined the NCAA Transfer Portal after spending four years in Fayetteville.

Catalon was with the Razorbacks for four years, but he only played in seven games the past two seasons because of injury. In Arkansas’ win over Texas, 40-21, Catalon had eight tackles and a pass defense.

Catalon was a healthy man who proved to be one the best safety nets in the SEC.

DEC 19 UPDATE

After three seasons playing with the Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Andrej Karaic will be moving to Knoxville to join the Tennessee Volunteers.

DEC 18 UPDATE

Prince Dorbah, a former Texas Longhorns linebacker, has committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils after he entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier in the month.

DEC 14 UPDATE

According to reports, Gavin Holmes, a standout Wake Forest Demon Deacons defensiveback, will be visiting the Texas Longhorns this weekend.

The Longhorns are looking for additional help in the secondary. Anthony Cook and D’Shawn Jamison both want to take their talents to the next level. Others such as JDCoffey and Jamier will be entering the Transfer Portal.

Holmes was the Demon Deacons’ best defensive back in 2022. He finished the year with 24 tackles, nine passes defended, and was widely regarded as the best.

DEC 13 UPDATE

The Longhorns will host Stanford punter Ryan Sandborn in the wake of Isaac Pearson’s transfer portal entry.

Sandborn was a four year starter for the Cardinal. He had 192 punts for 7,980 tards and averaged 41.6 yards per punt.

Austin native Hudson Card The Longhorns’ primary backup quarterback for the past two seasons, Card. Card was named the 2021 starter, but he was replaced by Casey Thompson in Week 2. Thompson would continue the season, but Card played in five more games after the benching.

Quinn Ewers, a redshirt freshman, was the incumbent QB1. However, Quinn suffered an AC joint injury in Week 2, when Quinn lost to then-No. 1 Alabama. Card began the next three games going 2-1 and throwing 741 yards and 6 touchdowns to go against one interception.

WR Troy Omeire

Texas Longhorns Receiver Troy Omeire On social media, Omeire confirmed that he was “looking for a school” and entered the transfer portal. Omeire was a part of the program for three seasons and will be returning.

Omeire, a top-tier prospect from Sugar Land, Texas was praised for his speed and tracking skills while at Fort Bend (Austin). The 6-3, 230-pound target, who is expected to be Texas’ future vertical receiver in 2020, arrived on campus with several other top recruits.

Omeire’s three seasons on campus were marred by injuries that limited his production. He was a freshman when he tore his ACL in fall camp. He was redshirted for 2020.

LB Prince Dorbah

Prince Dorbah, third-year linebacker According to reports Tuesday, he will enter the transfer portal OrangeBloods.com. Dorbah was part of five career games, including three in 2022.

He had 11 total tackles in Texas (five solo) during his three seasons. His most notable was the 49-0 win against the Oklahoma Sooners Oct. 8. In that game, he recorded one tackle.

After receiving offers from programs such as Ohio State, Notre Dame and Baylor, LSU, LSU, and Florida, Dorbah decided to move to Texas in July 2019. After winning two state titles with Highland Park, (Dallas),
