Five-Star Recruit Posts Statement After Flipping Commitment Twice in Two Days

Five-star football recruit Peyton Bowen announced on Thursday his decision to commit to college.Oklahoma.
This is one day after he had announced his commitment toOregonAt the ceremony hosted at his high school. This was no surprise, as he was verbally committed.Notre DameFor almost a whole year. All of this took place in just 28 hours. According to The Athletic‘s Chris Vannini.
Bowen posted a lengthy explanation on social media explaining his decision to change his commitments in response to the negative reaction.
He said that he eventually realized that Oregon was not the best choice for him and felt his heart was elsewhere.
Bowen wrote, “As I reflect back on yesterday’s whirlwind, I realize that I made some mistakes which I regret and will learn from.” Navigating this process was a rollercoaster. I’m sorry for the way I handled this, Notre Dame and Oregon faithful. I could have done better with the signing day change, the fake hat pump, and all of this. While I cannot change what I did, this is an experience I will remember.”
