Dodgers: Fans React to The Chris Taylor Award News
The Dodgers’ do-it-all man Chris “Utility Man,” Taylor, is one of five finalists for silver slugger in the utility position. The silver slugger award goes to the best offensive player in each position. It is voted for by managers and coaches from each league.
The silver slugger awards will be given out on November 10th on MLB Network.
This is the first time that players will be recognized for playing different positions throughout the season.
Chris Taylor is the Dodgers’ most valuable utility man since he joined the club in 2016.. His 2022 season was a forgettable one and fans were not afraid to voice their opinion on CT3 being among the finalists.

The 2022 season for Taylor was full of injuries and constant strikeouts at the plate. CT3 was limited in his potential due to injuries to his neck, knee, and foot.
I was surprised that Taylor was nominated for an offensive award. Taylor had a downyear, and his numbers fell slightly from 2021..
Taylor had 105 less at-bats, 2021 to 2022,, and his strikeouts were almost identical. He started with 167 and ended with 160 with the same number of ABs. This is a remarkable number for someone who was given a lot during the off-season.
Nonetheless, being a finalist for a silver slugger award is a huge accomplishment, and six finalists for the Dodgers is incredible.
