He’s not afraid of getting down there and tackling. “Some of the experience would have been the biggest thing, but we just feel that he’s another one our young guys if he was just let go. He’s aware and needs the battle reps. He’ll get some plays, and he’ll get to play a bit with C.J. Kerby will be on the other side. Let’s just say that he has been doing enough reps. He’s been back for some time, it’s been about three to four weeks since he last saw us. He has been practicing and putting together some days. Let it go, man.”

Melifonwu was hurt to begin the year and missed the first three games. He returned in Week 4 against Seattle. SportsReference reports that he has only played six snaps on defense while focusing most of his time on special teams.
