BREAKING: Panthers Sign CB Josh Norman
Carolina welcomes back a familiar face in the secondary.
The Carolina Panthers have signed Josh Norman, a veteran cornerback, to their practice squad in the wake of Jaycee Horn’s (wrist) possible injury.
The Panthers selected Norman in the fifth round of the 2012 draft. He spent the first four years leading “Thieves Avenue” for the Panthers. Norman’s first stint with Carolina saw him total 181 tackles and 34 pass breakups. He also had seven interceptions. Norman was named First-Team AP All-Pro during the 2015 Super Bowl run and was also selected to the Pro Bowl.
“He has a lot of experience in this league. He brings veteran leadership. He is our coach, and I feel like he has our DNA,” Steve Wilks, interim head coach, said Monday. “I know him personally. He played for me. He is a good representative of the culture we are trying to create and the element play that we want. I hope he’s healthy enough to play for us this week.
