Welcome to Yarraman, a picturesque country town about two hours drive from Brisbane,a little over an hour from the Sunshine Coast and less than an hour from the Bunya Mountains National Park. The Palms National Park is another National Park only half an hour from Yarraman. The Palms National Park is one of the smallest National parks in Australia, containing remnant vegetation, especially palm trees, that once would have dominated the area. The noisy Pitta, a shy but colourful ground bird is also found within The Palms National Park.
In and around Yarraman there is a large number of fascinating places to visit and interesting things to do including Wineries, Farm visits and stays, Local and Natural history museums, gold fossicking, Tarong Power Station and the Meandu Coal Mine, National Parks, Forest drives and walks in the State Forests, and fresh water fishing in the creeks and dams around the area.
Do yourself a favour and take a relaxed trip into the country and visit this beautiful part of the world.
